Raft Cover for boats on trailers, XL
Overview
Whitewater Designs Extra Large Raft Cover-
Raft Covers are often used by people who keep their boat on a trailer. For simple yard storage and slow back roads, a secured ground tarp may work fine, but a tarp will not for freeway driving or much over 30 m.p.h. In the back yard, elevating your raft on 4 X 4's or the like to keep it off the ground a few inches is a good plan before you cover it.
These are made from vinyl impregnated 6.5 ounce per yard off-white polyester, and have bungee around the perimeter as well as tie down loops on the two long sides. Reinforcement panels are built in around the areas on top where a frame might wear on the cover. There is also a kit with ten straps and instructions, though it's pretty simple to figure out.
The XL size cover fits 16' rafts, and some small 17's with a little cussing and stretching. Note: There is a new XXL raft cover available as of mid-2020, and it fits boats ranging from wide seventeen footers up to rafts like the AIRE 183R and various Hyside, NRS, Maravia, and other eighteeen footers. We do not see a big market for this size so we won't be keeping them on the shelf unless it turns out we are wrong. However, we are more than happy to order one for you. They run $595, and you should figure somewhere between two weeks delivery time minimum, up to four weeks if the manufacturer is busy. Call us if you want an XXL or if you want to know a more precise lead time.
