Description
We are phasing this aluminum shaft version of the Wave out of our line since it is too close in price to several glass shaft models we now carry. Save almost 20% now on 220cm in pumpkin orange, and 225's in yellow. Drip rings are included on all our paddles though they may not appear in the photos. All the regular details are below. These do have a good warranty, but we will not take returns on this paddle.
The take-apart Cannon Wave ($99 list price) whitewater & recreational paddle has a 1.2" tempered aluminum shaft with a wall thickness of .04". In addition to this two-piece paddle we also have a few 230cm 4-piece aluminum shaft Waves that were received by mistake (these run $119, but we won't be re-ordering them when they're gone. The 4-pc. version is not on the shopping cart, but we do carry a four piece glass-shaft Wave that is on the cart).
Please note that if you see Wave paddle with black blades for sale on the internet, they may be priced lower than some Cannons that we carry. Cannon does upcharge for colored blades, but even so we feel being able to find one that gets away from you on the river is important. If we order these in solid black you will never spot one in the water.
The Wave blades are very stiff, comparable to a fiberglass lay-up blade. Cannon utilizes a unique new molding process and short-fiber polyethylene, which seems to work better than mixing glass fibers in the formula. The blade was designed as a multi-purpose model but many of our customers have been using these on intermediate and even class IV whitewater too. Certified paddle abusers may want to either stick with the newer Accent Rage two-piece glass shaft model. Accent is a sister company to Cannon in the same Minneapolis location. Part of keeping the aluminum Wave's weight to a minimum mandates using a moderate wall thickness on the shaft, so these can get bent with enough force, whereas a glass shaft is far more difficult to damage.
We also stock a Cannon handle kit that converts this aluminum shaft Wave paddle into two canoe/raft paddles. This item is listed separately. Once we phase out the remainder of the Carlisle flat blade take-apart's that we have in stock, this and the Caviness Tri-Pack paddle kit will be the only two options if you want kayak paddles that convert into two single blade canoe paddles.
Please specify the length - 220cm or 225cm - in the "notes" area of your order.
